WHAT DOES A QUEEN DO?

• First official function: present the Little Shamrock winners at the DSPDPC Christmas Party.
• Attend the annual DSPDPC Pub Crawl and the half-way to St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl.
• Attend the “Changing of the Street Sign”
• Lead the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
• Present at the DSPDPC Awards’ Banquet.
• Ride in the DSPDPC float in the Greeley Stampede Parade.
• Summer events include representing the DSPDPC at Colorado Irish Festival.
• Be the spokeswoman for the DSPDPC at various media appearances and other duties as assigned.
• The 2013 Queen Colleen may represent the Denver Centre at the Rose of Tralee International Festival*

  

HOW DO YOU BECOME A QUEEN?

• You must be between 18 and 27 years old, never married, and available to attend required functions throughout the year on behalf of the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
• You must be of Irish origin by virtue of one of your ancestors having been born in Ireland.
• You must be available to compete in the International Rose of Tralee Festival regional event June, 2013, and if you advance to finals, attend the final competition in August, 2013 in Ireland.*
• Compose essay and common question answers. Provide a current self-portrait color photo electronically.
• Attend Queen Colleen events in October, 2012 (10/14 tea & 10/21 coronation)  for panel interview, candidate presentation, perform a talent (optional) and Coronation.
• Complete the Application and Release Forum and have sponsor by September 28, 2012.

 

Winners will be decided by three Judge’s based on essays, panel interview, and communication skills.
